Accessibility Peer Plan Reviewer

Job Description:

  • The inspector must be able to read, understand, and interpret architectural, engineering drawings and details. The ability to review project drawings for path of travel, rough opening widths, clearances to doors, accessibility clearance, and backing requirements is critical to the proper performance of the job.

  • The inspector must be able to clearly communicate, in writing and verbally, with project team members and company management about relevant construction systems and processes.

  • A clear understanding of the ADA and California Accessibility Standards CBC 11A and 11B and the Fair Housing Act is essential. The inspector shall be knowledgeable of code requirements, regional trade practices, and manufacturers' installation requirements for common materials. The inspector must be able to identify correct, or incorrect, installation methods in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Access Specialist;

  • 10 years of experience performing accessibility peer plan reviews;

  • Strong knowledge of the ADA and California Accessibility Standards CBC;

  • Reliable transportation, this position requires minimal travel to and from the PIW office and our Client's office.

Compensation:

    This is a contract position.

Required Experience:

    10 years of experience performing accessibility peer plan reviews.

Required License or Certification:

    Certified Access Specialist.
